The Urban Research Institute is working on methods and tools, developing strategies and plots for an active
shaping of social states.
The society is organizing itself in places of activeness, localized in terms of time and personnel. The steady state
place is changing continuously. A relevant participation needs flexibility, interdisciplinary working, artistic
research, project- and practice-oriented.
Working on-site on 1:1 models, cartography, publications,
actions.
The Urban Research Institute was founded by
Georg
Winter at the Academy of Fine Arts in Nuremberg. Since 2007 the institute is working detached from the academic
management, while still maintaining strong connections to various art colleges.
